Sports Rehabilitation Associates (SRA) opened its doors January 16, 1978. Our first location was at 89th Street and Roe Avenue in Prairie Village, Kansas. The original partners were Paul McGannon, A.T.C., (then a trainer in the Kansas City Royals farm system), Bill Jones, A.T.C. (then the trainer for the Kansas City Kings of the NBA) and Molly (McGannon) Sauder, P.T.
In 1980, Craig Klos, P.T., A.T.C., purchased Bill Jones’ interest in the company and became a shareholder in the firm.
In 1981, our clinic was relocated to 95th Street and Nall Avenue in Prairie Village.
The year of 1985 was one of expansion, as Pepper Pointe opened on the campus of the Overland Park Regional Hospital in February. The Medical Plaza, near St. Luke’s Hospital, opened in September of that same year. Along with the expansion came a new name: Sports Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy Associates, Inc.
In 1988, Sports Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy Associates, Inc., entered into a co-managing agreement with St. Luke’s Hospital to staff and manage the Sports Medicine Clinic at The Center for Health Enhancement.
In April 1995, the Pepper Pointe Clinic was moved to 6362 College Boulevard in Overland Park, Kansas and by November of 1995 the Nall clinic had incorporated at the same location to comprise a 7000 square foot, state-of-the-art, outpatient rehabilitation facility.
On July 1, 1997, Sports Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy Associates, Inc. was designated to staff and manage the outpatient departments of physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech at Saint Joseph Health Center, Kansas City, Missouri.
On January 1, 1999, Sports Rehabilitation opened the doors of the Performance Center. The Performance Center is dedicated to enhancing the conditioning, fitness and wellness of student-athletes and active individuals.
In September of 2001, Sports Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy Associates, Inc., entered into another management agreement with Carondelet Health, overseeing Affiliated Therapies of Saint Mary’s with offices in Blue Springs, Odessa and Oak Grove, Missouri.
On July 11, 2005 Sports Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy Associates opened our latest facility in Parkville, Missouri. Our clinic on Crooked Road includes a SwimEx aquatic therapy pool.
On July 31, 2006 Sports Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy Associates opened a clinic in the new Corporate Medical Plaza at 435 & Nall.
The summer of 2008 brought the relocation of our College and Lamar facilities to the Corporate Medical Plaza at 107th & Nall in Overland Park.
